Although I'm not usually a big celebrator of this haunted holiday, this year my fiance and I are throwing a little party with friends and I'm contributing a little sweet treat.
My family has been making these "chocolate spiders" for as long as I can remember. They are a great, easy treat to make for holidays to give away or to munch on yourself. And the hint of butterscotch in them is so tasty!
I'm very excited to share these goodies with our friends.
You want to know a secret? It's pretty embarrassing, but I must confess. Even though this recipe is like one of the easiest to make, I totally burned the chocolate and butterscotch chips in the first batch! Apparently chocolate is easy to burn in the microwave, so the second time I used a make shift double boiler and it worked much better. I am admitting to this so you know that even people who cook a lot can burn things. One time I burned chocolate pudding, too. Whew, glad I got that all out. I feel better now. And I am blessed to live 3 minutes away from a grocery store that I could pick up more chips at.
Anyway, these are great little snacks that are (usually) very simple to make.
