Simple Saturday: Green Smoothie
Sometimes I'm a little late on trends.
I didn't start watching The Office until like Season 3, I didn't read the Harry Potter series until I was in college and I didn't try a green smoothie until this week.
I know that green smoothies have been going around for awhile, but I have been skeptical and had not come across a simple recipe that I was excited about.
Then, my friend told me what she puts in her green breakfast smoothie: almond milk, spinach, frozen banana and peanut butter.
And I was intrigued and determined to try it...and it was so delicious!
It's super easy to throw together and even take in a to-go cup to work. Also, believe it or not, this smoothie kept me full until lunch time (and that's coming from a serious pre-lunch snacker).
Here's how you make it:
Put a frozen banana, a handful of spinach, a few tablespoons of peanut butter and 1/2 to 1 cup of milk (or almond milk) in a blender. Blend until smooth and green. Enjoy with a fun straw!
