New Snacks on the Block

I'm a snacker...always have been and probably always will be.

I mean, what if you eat a meal and get hungry a few hours later; you've gotta have some back ups.

You know how they say instead of eating three large meals, you should eat several small meals?

I would like to combine those two to find a happy medium.

And although I love to snack on fresh fruits and veggies, sometimes it's nice to just grab something to snack on. Here are a few of the healthier snacks that have been making it into my snack time as of late.

1. Nature's Bakery Fig Bars
I just discovered these while looking for a snack bar at my local Wally world (aka Walmart) and they have rocked my fig world. They remind me a lot of one of my favorite Trader Joe's goodies, This Fig Walks into a Bar cereal bars. These fig delights, which contain two small bars per package, have a very short ingredient list are whole wheat, non-GMO and absolutely tasty and filling. They are the perfect, wholesome snack!

2. Peanuts
Almonds, peanuts, pecans and most nuts are a wonderful snack. I like to keep a stash of nuts by my desk at work for a pre-lunch snack. Nuts are healthy (just watch the salt content on these guys), easy to transport and a filling protein.

3. Barbara's Cheese Puffs Originals
These healthier (and even more cheesy and amazing than Cheetos) cheese puffs are basically the reason that I go to my local natural store, Ozark Natural Foods. The cheese powder has a depth of flavor from a combination of aged cheddar and blue cheese and they're non-GMO. These puffs will even make a peanut butter-honey sandwich lunch seem special.

What are your favorite healthier snacks?
