A Chip off the Old Kale



Everyone has that snack that they couldn't live without.

It's that pantry treat that curbs your sweet or salty craving.

For me, it's chips...tortilla chips to be exact.

I actually can't remember a time in my life when I wasn't munching on tortilla chips as a snack. Although they're not the worst snack, they're pretty salty and very addictive.

For a while I have been hearing about a new chip that's healthy and delicious: kale chips.



After spending a wonderful morning at the Fayetteville Farmer's Market with my good friend Myra, she invited me to come back to her house to learn how to make kale chips.

It was so easy to turn my big, green, leafy bunch of kale into crispy, savory chips! Yes, these are addictive too, and so good for you.


Kale Chips

1. Wash kale thoroughly and set out on a towel to dry.


2. Once dry, tear the kale leaves off of the stems, keeping the leaves as large as possible.

3. Toss the leaves in olive oil, sea salt and pepper.


4. Set the leaves out evenly on a baking sheet.


5. Bake in a 250 degree oven for about 30 minutes or until crisp. Check on them to make sure they don't burn. Enjoy!
